Services

Information and trust line

The Dementia information and trust line is a service provided by the Dementia Competence Centre, where people with dementia, their relatives, as well as specialists and providers of healthcare and social services can receive advice.
The number for the information and trust line is 644 6440.

The service offers the opportunity for anonymous inquiries, helps individuals navigate the new situation after a diagnosis, assists in understanding the nature of the disease, and helps find the best available help and advice as close as possible to the person’s home.

The Dementia information and trust line is open on weekdays, and specialists answering the line provide initial practical recommendations based on experience and help find information about the necessary services. If a problem remains unresolved by phone, the caller can be further advised in person, involving specialists if necessary.

The information line is open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 16:00. The phone number is 644 6440, and the caller is responsible for the cost of the call based on the telephone operator’s rates.

When the information line is closed, questions can be sent via email to info@dementsus.ee.

Personalized counseling

We offer personalized counseling for individuals with dementia and their relatives who need more in-depth listening and a meeting with a specialist to find solutions. Personalized counseling provides support and practical recommendations to help people reach the best possible solutions. Confidentiality is guaranteed for those seeking help, and the service is free of charge.

For personalized counseling, an appointment is arranged at a time and place that suits the individual, during which one-on-one communication takes place.

If you wish, you can write to info@dementsus.ee or call the Information and trust line at 644 6440.

Expert consultation for institutions

The expert consultation service is designed for providers of services to people with dementia (e.g., care institutions, nursing care providers, home service providers, caregivers, social workers, occupational therapists, day centers, etc.), as well as for employees and leaders in the social welfare sector of local governments.

The expert consultation offers support to professionals in the social and healthcare sectors to determine the appropriate approach and direction for addressing dementia-related issues. Guidance is also provided on creating a suitable environment and service content for individuals with dementia.

Consultation sessions are scheduled with the specialist at a mutually convenient time and method (including virtual meetings), during which individual guidance is provided.

The service is free of charge. To request a consultation, please email info@dementsus.ee or call the information line at 644 6440.

Seminars

The Dementia Competence Center organizes seminars, information days, and conferences on dementia-related topics for professionals in the social welfare sector and family members of individuals with dementia.

If you would like assistance in finding trainers and competent educators for dementia-related training, please contact us via email at info@dementsus.ee or call 644 6440.

We are happy to assist you!

Support groups for family members

We organise support groups all over Estonia, both on-site and virtually.

Support groups are open to people close to people with dementia.

The support group gives you the opportunity to share your thoughts, concerns and experiences with other people in a similar situation, and to get emotional help and practical support.

You can find out when and where the support groups take place in the Dementia Competence Centre’s events calendar and on Facebook: Dementsuse Kompetentsikeskus, and for more information go to https://dementsus.ee/tugigrupid-lahedastele/.
